Surf: Interested in getting into some of Ayampe’s legendary breakers? Varying levels of surf service are available for all levels from private lessons to rental boards.

Isla de La Plata: Enjoy a full day tour to the islands known as “poor man’s Galapagos.” A 1 hour boat ride takes you to stunning islands in the middle of the Pacific chock-full of wildlife including humpback whales, blue-footed boobies, frigates, butterflies and sea turtles.

Isla Salango: Just 10 minutes away from Ayampe lies the fishing village of Salango. The town is full of history dating back 5,000 years. Here you hop on a boat and visit the island (only about 1 km offshore). Salango has a nice sandy beach to sightsee or snorkel.

Los Frailes: Los Frailes is the beach extension of the Machalilla Nacional Forest. This protected wildlife preserve offers secluded sandy beaches with breathtaking views.

Agua Blanca: Enjoy a dip in the therapeutic, skin-softening sulphur baths of Agua Blanca. Trip includes a guided hike and museum tour of this historic site.

Rio Chico: Surf the left-hand point break of Rio Chico or explore the wild tidal pools full of marine life.

Montañita: Enjoy a night on the town in party city Montañita. Dining and shopping are available in this vivacious, yet gritty, surf town. Check out “cocktail alley” for fresh fruity cocktails with exotic flavors. Dance the night away in one of the many bars or nightclubs. Or, as the locals do, you can simply party in the street. Music and street performances are the norm.
